Fall Fishing

Tampa Bay has plenty to offer in the fall season. Our usual, snook, redfish and trout will be hot until we start to see a major cold front push through. A special fall treat for us in Tampa Bay, kingfish start to show up. They follow the schools of bait fish and the dropping water temperatures and get close enough to our coast to catch.

Snook season is set to close at the end of November. Although we practice catch and release, now is the time to get that last minute keeper. Large “white bait” free lined is your best option to land that trophy.

Tampa Bay Redfish

Redfish in our area have been a little inconsistent but we have managed a few nice days with some keepers and a few “over slot” size. Look for schools of reds to show up around the “New” and “Full’ moons.

Trout have always been our “go to” when the other species don’t want to cooperate. Trout are a good species to practice your artificial skills. Soft plastics with a 1/8 jig head is my bait of choice. I prefer a white or pink color. Now is a great time to find out what works best for you.
